The Tracy Reese spring 2010 palette was bright and varied, taking its cue from the 1920s artwork of Pierre Bonnard. According to makeup head Charlotte Willer, the thin arches and spiky lashes at Reese's show were also influenced by the flapper era. Hair, however, took on a life of its own: "I was inspired by the layering of bold prints and color in the collection," says mane master Jeanie Syfu. "There are lots of layered ponytails incorporated into the hairstyleeven though it looks effortless, there's a lot going on."
To begin, Syfu misted Tresemmé 24-Hour Body Foaming Mousse over strands for volume and texture, teasing the top section and setting with a curling iron. She then brushed out curls for a "fluffy finish" and fastened them into a ponytail at the crown. Next, she gathered hair from the sides of the head into another pony, "directly on top of the first one." To tie up loose ends, Syfu combined both ponies and remaining locks into a master ponytail at the occipital bone and twisted hair into a loose bun. "I left it really piece-y and casual so that it doesn't look too fussed over," says Syfu about the completed pompadour do. "It's all about the idea of waking up and looking fabulous."
