If you thought blunt bangs were on the way out, think againat Louise Goldin's fall 2009 show, dramatic fringe was the mane attraction. In a nod to the futuristic androids of the 1980s sci-fi film Blade Runner, Goldin wanted girls to look similarly artificial. Much like the robots in Ridley Scott's movie, she also wanted them to lack identity. Hence, to models' dismay, Goldin had them strut the catwalk with face-obstructing hair extensions that hung "like visors" over their eyes. To create the look, hairstylist Paul Hanlon prepped strands with L'Oréal Texture Expert Smooth Ultime before pinning on bangs. The back of hair was left loose and natural to serve as a foil for the fake, pin-straight fringe.
