Pretty Hair (For Busy Women) Simple Quick Hairstyles - Pretty Hairstyles for Women
1. Make fast waves
Hair truth: The less washing and styling you can get away with, the healthier your hair will be. So spin your day-old blow-dry into tousled waves: First, spritz your roots with dry shampoo to nix oil and thicken hair. We like L'Oréal Professionnel Fresh Dust, $19. Then wrap big sections around a large curling iron, "twirling the front sections away from your face," says hairstylist Ted Gibson, who works with Jessica Chastain. To finish, use your fingers to shake it all up.
2. Twist it up
On day two, try a French twist--unwashed hair makes it easy and seductive. "Its coarse texture helps the style stay put and look more casual," Gibson says. Back-comb your crown a few times to create volume, then gather your hair at the nape of your neck, slightly to one side. "Holding the ends, twirl your hair and keep twirling as you pull it up and against your head," Gibson says. Stick a few bobby pins horizontally into the roll's underside, and tuck the ends into the top. Take that, Audrey Hepburn!
3. Do a messy knot
By the third post-shampoo day, hair can get a little disheveled. The insta-fix: Roll with it--literally!--and do a loose bun. "It's great for the office because it still looks polished," says hairstylist Jet Rhys of the Jet Rhys Salons in San Diego. Begin by making a low, loose ponytail, letting any stray pieces fall where they may (they'll soften the look even more). Then, "wrap the tail around itself like a cinnamon bun," says Rhys. Pin the knot in place, tuck the wisps behind your ears, and go.
4. Braid it (just barely)
Yes, you can eke another day out of your 'do with a relaxed, weekend-perfect braid. "It's the low-key way to look pulled-together," says Rhys. The sexiest strategy: Start the braid at the nape of your neck (or, for you plaiting pros, do it French-style, starting a few inches higher), guiding it over one shoulder; wrap an elastic around the end. Tug the sides of the braid and around the top of your hair to loosen some strands. Now get yourself to brunch!

The neat chignon
"This is an easy hairstyle for long hair whenever you want to look polished," says Oded Gabay of New York's Lovella salons. Simply pull hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Braid the ponytail, secure with another elastic at the end, and wrap it around to create a tight, neat bun. Use bobby pins to hold it all in place. The messy chignon
There are many variations on the classic chignon, but this slightly haphazard one is particularly of the moment. "For a softer look, pull little strands of hair out of the braid so it's not as neat," says Gabay. Grab the end of the braid where it's secured with an elastic band, and pull only one piece of hair up so it becomes a poof. Tuck in the ends like a messy bun and secure with bobby pins.Soft curls
"I would highly recommend that any woman with medium to long hair have a set of medium-sized hot rollers," says Gabay. "Hot rollers are the healthiest way to achieve soft curls without burning hair, as is common when using a curling iron." Simply wrap dry hair around the rollers, leave on for five minutes, remove and run your fingers through the curls to separate. Set with hairspray for a soft, bouncy style. The wispy braid
If your hair is longer, try braiding it at the nape of your neck in a single strand to the side — rather than in the center — of your head. Secure with an elastic band, and pull a few strands free to keep it from looking too confined. The top knot
Like Vanessa Hudgens, women with long hair can pull off this style. Pull hair back into a high ponytail, smoothing the sides with your fingers. Wrap the loose end in circles, then secure with a few bobby pins. The trick here is choosing the right height for your face shape — not everyone can pull off a top-bun, but most can find a sweet spot at the crown.
The sleek side part
Styling short hair can be a challenge. For a quick and easy style, try an off-center part. Comb a part a little closer to the side of your head than you normally would, and smooth flyaways back with gel. It looks sleek and neat dressed up or down. The mid-height pony
Cameron Diaz's pony isn't too high or too low — it's just right, and just dressy enough. Start by parting hair down the middle, then secure hair back with one hand while using your other to pull strands into a slight bump at the crown.

Don't Make These Hairstyle Mistakes Hairstyle Mistakes - Common Hair Mistakes
Going platinum
Very light blonde shades don't work for many women, and can actually age you by making you appear washed out. "For example, Olivia Wilde's beautiful eyes really pop and her complexion looks brighter when her hair has some darker tones as compared to when it is very light, says Oded Gabay, celebrity hair stylist and owner of New York's Lovella salons.
Skipping deep conditioner
It doesn't matter how fabulous your cut is when your tresses are fried. "Shiny, glossy hair is a sign of youth," says Gabay. To keep hair from looking frizzy and old, it's important to use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. Gabay recommends Repêchage's newly-launched Hair Spa Seaweed Mask. It revitalizes brittle hair with 18 amino acids, 12 vitamins and 42 trace elements. Bonus: The ingredients are all paraben- and sulfate-free. ($55; Repechage.com)Bangs that don't flatter your face
Bangs always help accentuate the eyes, but can actually work against you if you're trying to downplay certain other features. For example, Zooey Dashanel's straight-cut, blunt bangs make her amazing eyes stand out even more, but they also draw attention to her nose. While this works for her, it could be problematic for others. "If you don't have an amazing nose, than you should do wispy bangs instead of straight across in order to keep the attention on your eyes," says Gabay.Copying a celebrity cut
It's a good idea to show your stylist pictures of cuts you like because it gives him or her a visual to work with. However, don't expect your hair to morph into Jessica Simpon's long, blonde locks if yours better resembles Ashley Judd's short and dark tresses. "You may not have the same face shape or hair texture," says Gabay. "The key is to find a hairstyle that maximizes your unique look and features." Work with your stylist to tailor certain aspects of the look you want. For example, you may see a celebrity with a sharp bob, but cutting locks at a severe angle may not flatter your jaw line. A hair pro can soften the cut so it's wispier, or snip it to a length that's perfect for you.Going too dark
Jet-black hair is very severe, and can make you look pale and accentuate flaws such as under-eye circles. "Kim Kardashian's complexion looks dull when her hair gets too dark, but her skin begins to glow again when she goes a few shades lighter," says Gabay. "That's because black can overpower features while dark brown adds some warmth to skin tones."Getting highlights post hair straightening
"If you arrive for highlights and don't tell your stylist that you had your hair relaxed three months ago, it could break, or get lighter 10 times quicker than it would with virgin hair," says Gabay. "Chemical processes like relaxing treatments or highlights weaken the structure of the cuticles, which never go back to the same strength until you grow in new hair." This is why it's essential to tell your stylist all about your hair-history, or to find a hairdresser that asks these questions.Crossing your legs during a cut
It may be tempting to read a magazine at the salon, but it's important to keep from hunching forward. Be sure to leave your limbs uncrossed, and keep your head still in order to get the most accurate, precise cut.Forgetting to take notes
At the beginning of any cut, ask your stylist for tips on how to recreate the look yourself. "You should never have to wait a week or two for your haircut to grow out in order for it to look its best," says Gabay. "Ask your stylist to give you the directions and tools you need to look as good at home as you do when you walk out of the salon." And you won't offend anyone if you write them down — it'll only make it easier for you to remember later! The Best Hair Color for Your Skin Tone Best Hair Color for Your Skin Tone - Celebrity Hair Color Match
A match made in heaven
Hair color can change your whole appearance because it frames your face. "I think of color as an important accessory that enhances your unique beauty and facial features," says Oded Gabay, celebrity hair stylist and owner of Lovella salons in New York. "You'll know when you've found the right color for your individual skin tone because you'll love it right at that moment and won't need to get used to it." The secret is to find a shade that enhances rather than detracts from your complexion. You don't need to waste precious time and money testing out different shades. Instead, check out Gabay's professional advice to find your perfect match.
Nicole Kidman
If your skin is: Pale with cool blue or green undertones
Try: Warm golden blonde
Why it works: "Many women with coloring like Nicole's tend to go for ashy shades, but you don't want your hair color to blend in with your skin tone because that will only wash you out," says Gabay. "Golden shades are going to give you some extra warmth to make you look much more awake and refreshed."
Zooey Deschanel
If your skin is: Medium with warm undertones
Try: Dark chocolate brown
Why it works: "Dark colors make her light eyes pop, but black would be much too harsh on woman with Zooey's warm coloring," says Gabay. "Dark chocolate brown with medium brown highlights placed on top of your head to frame your face will keep the color soft and brighten eyes."
Emma Stone
If your skin is: Pale with warm yellow undertones and freckles
Try: A golden red
Why it works: Pale skinned women should avoid hair color that looks too natural, and instead play up a contrast between their locks and their complexions. "It takes guts to try warm colors with pale skin, but red shades can really compliment freckles and yellow undertones," says Gabay.
Kim Kardashian
If your skin is: Olive with warm undertones
Try: Darkest brown
Why it works: Strong, dark shades act like a canvas for your face by accentuating your features in ways that can be both good and bad, says Gabay. "If you have darkness under your eyes, very dark hair color will bring this out. If your lips or eyes are beautiful, dark hair will enhance these features as well." Kim's color is rich without being too harsh, because her warm dark hair is a few shades lighter than black to bring out the best of her olive complexion.
Jessica Biel
If your skin is: Medium with cool undertones
Try: Caramel
Why it works: Using a caramel shade can add extra warmth to medium complexions with cool undertones and help give skin a glow. What to avoid if you have this skin tone: Shades that are either too light (they can leave skin and eyes looking dull) or too dark (very dark shades can accentuate under-eye circles).
Michelle Obama
If your skin is: Dark with warm undertones
Try: Dark auburn brown
Why it works: Rich, dark shades with warm casts work best on this skin color because they enhance rather than clash with darker skin's warm tones. Try infusing new life into boring black by opting for the deep tones of darkest auburn, suggests Gabay.
